St Georges Day at the Vikings Hotel, Goole

We had fun photographing the St Georges Day celebrations organized by Goole Mountaineering Club , chairmen John Morrill. Their annual charitable fundraising celebration in honor of St George is held at The Vikings hotel in Goole. The celebrations always include an equestrian guest, this year it Carla ridden by Ben Atkinson of Atkinson’s Action horses based in Eastrington. Carla an Andalusian / Welsh cross stands at 15 hands, famous for her appearances in film, television & commercials such as the Guinness surfer; was dressed for the occasion in her St George’s day regalia.

Kelly & Marc's Pre wedding photo shoot.

We met up with Kelly & Mark for their Pre Wedding photo shoot at Loftsome Bridge Hotel in East Yorkshire. This is their reception venue following their marriage at Trinity Methodist Church in Goole. The weather was kind to us & we had some fun practicing some poses, chatting about the style of photos they would like, any any worries they may have had about their wedding day.

They were looking at their earlier outdoor pictures on my 2nd camera while I took this paparazzi picture of them both, they looked so relaxed & natural.

We made all the background black & white & kept Kelly & Mark in colour on this picture as the interior colours were taking the emphasis away from Kelly & Mark. I think this photo editing effect works well. We also tried it on the tree photo below !

After saving up for ages, today I also got to try out our new super fast low lighting level paparazzi lens (a Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM), before our full wedding season kicks off later this month. The lens is beautifully sharp & fast allowing me to take low lighting photos in a dark church without a flash! (Most ministers don't like flash photography during their service).

I also had some creative fun with their kiss picture, converting it to Black & White then playing about until I got a nice grain effect as I used to get using film years ago.

Louise & Simon's Pre-Wedding Photo shoot

With less than a month to go to their wedding.

Louise & Simon had an hour of fun on their pre-wedding photography session at St Mary's Church in East Cottingwith in East Yorkshire. On their wedding day I will be in attendance to photograph their reception at the Monkbar Hotel in York afterwards.

Louise was a little nervous at first but they both got into the pre-wedding photography spirit soon enough. We've tried out some new spot colour techniques on these photos to give them more artistic appeal & will draw your attention to the details in each picture. We hope you like our work. Rachel & Darren's pre-wedding pictures

Rachel & Darren are getting married on the 16th May 09, so we had arranged a fun pre wedding portrait photography session in our Goole studio. They both got into the photo session & had fun practising different poses that we can use on the day. I think Darren had fun with the black & white shot that we've made into a silhouette artwork.

Event Photography at the Young Farmers Ball, Cave Castle Feb 2009

We've been photographing at Cave Castle again, this time it's event photography. Over the last month we've been here for wedding photography & commercial photography. All the young farmers & guests were dressed beautifully in Black tie & fine gowns, they all had a really fun evening as can be seen from our pictures.

Thanks to all the folk we met on the night and the interest shown in our wedding & portrait photography services too.

Family fun in the sun - Family portraits

We have been having family fun in the sun with clients choosing our new outdoor family lifestyle portrait sessions.

If your kids are over 6 years old, you know they've got boundless ammounts of energy which doesn't bode well for studio sessions, so we've packed up our old kit bag in search of smiles outside. We've been to Parks across the region, in Goole, Howden, Pontefract, Newmiller Dam & Harrogate photographing families & pets having outdoor fun, eating picnic's flying kites, learing to ride, playing on climbing frames, scateboards, in sandpits & occasionally getting wet & muddy (Sorry mums) but generally having fun.

It's been a busy week this week.
We've been photographing pets, a wedding, a family shoot, 3 interiors,
we organised a shoot for a coach company &
we're nearly ready for our location shoot in Florida next week!
